vanda boydParticipant
Checked the car parking today. There’s room for about a dozen cars, but if full, plenty of room down Whitelow Lane (opposite).
Still 2 places left, will be 2 groups leaving a few minutes apart.vanda boydParticipantQuite right about car parking. Never seen so many cars parked, right on the boundary, as today. Practically parking in ditches etc.
vanda boydParticipantMaybe not the obvious place to try, but Towsure in Hillsborough seemed to have quite a few in today. Not really qualified to know how good they are, but perhaps worth a look.
vanda boydParticipantThere have been several updates on BMC Guidamce etc from Geoff. The position remains basically the same as in June for groups of 6. Individuals have a little more freedom.
As for Zoom Thursday’s, that just requires members to volunteer to host something.
Anybody willing?vanda boydParticipantHope you can get all that in within the 40mins!!
vanda boydParticipantReminder that I’d number for tonight’s quiz meeting is 6836641958.

Paul and Vandavanda boydParticipantHi Dave,
Saw Frank’s message and Vanda and I had similar thoughts, as did Andrew when we spoke on the phone last night.
A major part of the comp is the feedback and judging from Ian, would be a pity to miss out on that.
We would, however, be happy to join in with a ”Clubroom chat’ session via Zoom if/when one is arranged, possibly this Thursday.
You may find a voice message to this effect, we seem to have 3 different phone numbers for you!!
Cheers
Paul and Vanda.vanda boydParticipantGood idea as long as we don’t have to have virtual rodents, turn the heating off or a crack in the walls. (Although we do have a roof leak).
Who’s got the technical expertise, not me for sure.vanda boydParticipantReminder for Thursday’s walk.
Details in original post.
I’ll endeavour to be at the parking spot by 10.30, look out for pale blue Vauxhall Insignia with Castle windscreen stickers.
Having done the walk a few weeks ago I can promise a varied route of moorland, woodland, farms and country house grounds plus some surprises.
Hope to see you there.
Paul.vanda boydParticipantGood afternoon everybody,
As we’ve had a few cancellations as you may have seen, just wondering what those still going think about abandoning the main course bit of the communal meal?Especially as not sure if anyone is now coordinating or shopping or what final numbers are.
We’ve still got garlic bread and a fruit pie to share and assuming Chris and Jo still doing starter.
Please let us know any thoughts.
Cheers
Paulvanda boydParticipantRuss, you’re not going back far enough!!
1980’s, blue skies, crisp snow, ascents of Striding Edge in full winter conditions, gully climbs followed by cheap beer and fish and chips. 😊😊😊❄️❄️❄️🍺🍺🍺🍺vanda boydParticipantHopefully everybody makes it to Patterdale OK, but Elen brings up a good point in that we are committed to pay almost £500 for the weekend so anybody dropping out at the last minute will be required to pay their hut fee as usual.
I’m sure this naming of storms seems to make them feel worse, it used to be called winter weather!!vanda boydParticipantHi Gemma
Thanks for doing this. We’ve had a couple of cancellations, still hoping to fill the hut but the current count is 20.
Cheers
Paulvanda boydParticipantHi Steve,
No, I’ll collect at the weekend, treasurers away at present so it’s easier to leave it.
See you there.
Paul.vanda boydParticipantDawn,
Sorry for delay, been away.
1 place left now, appx £24 for 2 nights.
No extra nights booked but you could book on-line if you wanted.
Let me know ASAP as I’m about to pay balance.
Cheers
