Update – if it seems sensible because of the weather, I’ll do an alternative less exposed and shorter (about 5miles) walk tomorrow, with the same start time and place. Look forward to seeing you there.
Marianmarian birkettParticipantJust to confirm, due to wet and windy forecast, I won’t plan any bike ride for tomorrow.
Marianmarian birkettParticipantHi Gemma
An alternative is to use the Corran ferry, then go to Lochaline and get the ferry to Fishnish which is on Mull. Quicker than going all the way along Ardnamurchan and crossing to Tobermory. I don’t think you have to book either of those ferries.
Marianmarian birkettParticipantForgot to say – start at the usual time 11am.
Marianmarian birkettParticipantThanks for letting me know if you want to come on this cycle ride tomorrow. We seem to have a group of 7 so we will go as one group, starting as planned at 10am. from GR 158684.
There would be room for an extra last minute person – but check with me first please.
Looking forward to those hills!!
Marianmarian birkettParticipantI’m just re-posting this as there seemed to be a problem with messages reaching people’s email boxes yesterday – problem now resolved I think. So incase you missed this, on road cycling on Saturday is on. And the good news is that the current weather forecast shows fine weather.
In summary, meet Low Bradfield car park GR 263918 to start 10am for on road cycle to Langsett café and back. As usual my route will take some less used small roads to get up the hills (some people would call route convoluted, I prefer to say scenic!). Approx 25miles with plenty of stops. Only one café so bring supplies to get you there! All welcome. Hope you can make it!
Marianmarian birkettParticipantAlso found at Hornby Laithe, in upstairs bathroom above sitting room, one black long sleeved thermal type top, with short zip at neck, odlo written on collar. Any takers?
Marianmarian birkettParticipantRuss. You’ll see there is a cycle round ladybower on that mon at 2pm. I’m happy to arrange a morning ride to link with this for you and anyone else who can join in. Details to follow.
Marianmarian birkettParticipantI’ve looked at on road bike rides from the hut and have 3 suggestions. Favourite is ingleton, kingsdale, dent, barbondale (or lune valley) circuit. Other possibilities: circuit south via slaidburn or else circuit via high bentham, ingleton, austwick, giggleswick taking in part of sustrans way of roses route. Just some ideas. Fingers crossed for good weather. Marian
