After all the difficulties with road closures and necessary change of start point 7 people gathered at Dutthroat bridge. We were greeted by strong and gusty westerly wind and snow flurries. The weather did improve a bit and we only had one brief shower of snow. The wind was an issue all the day and temperature rarely rose above 4 degrees.

despite all this we enjoyed brilliant quality of light with mostly bright and clear skies some of it being actually blue. The views across to Derwent edge were memorable.

The change of start led to lunch break and coffee being combined once a less exposed stretch of woodland was reached giving welcome shelter.
Adjustments by the leader to the originally planned route left a distance of 8.7 miles so not far from Thursday walk protocols in the end.

An enjoyable day, Thanks for your company
