Intake quarry is massive! Some excellent more amenable areas, and some dodgy looking stuff. Grades start from 5, loads in the 6s, some over 30m.
We will start on the pleasant sunny Father’s wall and Takeaway wall. Both face south west and get sun from about 11am.
Forecast is cold but sunny, but will check nearer the time.
Location, very close to DE4 4SL, near Middleton Top. This is just south of Cromford and Matlock.
Approach from Middlrton, turning uphill at the Rising Sun pub, take the first right after a bridge, signed Middleton Top and High Peak Trail. Park here or just further on, on a gravel road by the second building on the left. Grid ref SK 270551.
The quarry is straight ahead, with usual danger signs! Bmc have not reported any access issues.
If very cold we will be getting there with the sun, by 11am! Have 2 spaces in the car, if anyone wants a lift. We live Sheffield 8.
