Meet at 10.30 for an 8 mile walk to Lantern Pike and Cown Edge. Graded easy/mod, whatever that means, it’s not a walk often done by the CMC but known for excellent views. Featured in the early 80’s copy of ”High Peak walks”, although I’ve downloaded a more recent description in case of any changes since 1982! Fewer stiles than usual due to partly following a bridleway, suitable for all [probably].
The walk starts from the car park in ROWARTH, accessed from Hollinsmoor Rd.
GR SK011892, postcode [appx location] SK22 1EF. Accessible from Hayfield or Marple.Bring supplies as there’s only one pub right at the start, although it might make a fitting end to the walk.
