Rain was in the air so our party of 11 donned waterproofs for this walk around Win Hill. A fresh breeze greeted us as we walked across field paths to Hallum Barn although by the time we had reached Aston the rain had passed. Our mid morning break was taken above Twitchill Farm with clearing views towards Lose Hill and Mam Tor. A gradual ascent followed over Hope Brink which afforded good views of the Edale Valley, and we then crossed the ridge near Wooler Knoll. Turning south east we followed the path at the edge of the plantation, and lunch was taken in the lee of Win Hill. With Ladybower and the Hope Valley below we returned to our starting point. A very pleasant jaunt of just over 6 miles in good conditions and almost mud free.
