15 plus two dogs had the good fortune for the weather to have improved considerably compared to the forecast of a few days beforehand – no rain. Setting off from Monyash, we picked up the Slimestone way up to Flagg, somehow missing the proper path just after Rockfield House when we were slithering about in the mud looking for somewhere with sufficient grass for a tea break so that we didn’t have to pretend to be Flanders & Swann’s hippos. We rejoined the planned route a little later, after which two left us to reduce their walk a little, whilst the rest of us skirted the south of Taddington, to join Deepdale, avoiding a section near the A6 that was completely under water a few weeks ago. From the end of Deepdale we enjoyed (?) a stylefest across the fields back to Monyash. After taking out the meanderings the GPS records whilst stopped for tea and lunch, 7.9 miles.
    Thanks for everyone’s company.
