Thirteen club members plus one aspirant member eventually met at Upper Burbage Bridge amongst the parking chaos caused by coaches and mini buses disgorging hoards of school children on D ofE, field courses and climbing tuition. A leisurely stroll along the Burbage Valley across to Padley Gorge taking in a spot of bird watching. The route skirted the upper west side of the gorge taking in a coffee stop and a brief scan of the woods for any avian life. We continued along the edge of the woods to Bole Hill and below Lawrencefield to a lunch stop at the view point at Surprise View. A steady walk took us over the top of Millstone Edge to Highgate’s Tor, Fiddlers Elbow and back to the now quiet car park.
A good day out missing most of the rain and midges.
Thanks to all attending.
