Last time I tried this one we had a blizzard so come equipped for all possibilities. Meet N of the ex public toilet at Fox House 268 804. Parking along the verge or at Longshaw. Walk is about 6 miles along the top of Burbage to Upper Burbage Bridge, Higger Tor, Carl Wark, bottom of Burbage, loop into Longshaw and back. Possible shortcuts from bottom of Burbage and A 6187 crossing. Can extend down Padley Gorge if required. Possible cafe stop at Longshaw.
Despite the weather warning 12 of us met up and donned waterproofs. 2 team members were recuperating and set out with the intention of turning back after coffee. Walk and company were both enjoyable and went as planned, the weather did us proud with a touch of hail at one point and sunshine towards the end. A meeting with the owner of an out of control dog marred the day as she refused to listen to either polite advice or rude comments. A rather more direct descent from Carl Wark cut the distance to 5.6 miles. Thanks to all participants.
