Meet at the small village green of Millthorpe [with a convenient large parking area nearby – GR 318764] about 2 miles southeast of Owler Bar. This approx. 7 mile walk will head initially south, passing through Rumbling Street to Barlow Grange, where the route then heads northwest to Moorhall, through Unthank, Horsleygate and Holmesfield Common before returning to Millthorpe. The last 3 Castle walks I led here were all in 2014, but even if you were on all of those walks, this time I hope to be walking on a number of different paths [always ‘interesting’ with no previous recce of course!].
