    Meet at 11.00 outside Cromford Mill Wharf cafe by the canal GR 570300 Buxton/Matlock 1:50 000 Landranger map. Probably further than usual venues but this walk is well worth it. Allow minimum of 45 mins for journey and car shares advised. There is some free parking on the main road otherwise the cheapest car park is the one on RHS coming from Matlock Bath , opposite the church and signposted for the local rugby club (£4 for 4 hours). This walk promises outstanding views of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site including a thriving village of period architecture, plenty of early industrial history and a varied terrain for walking. Approx 7 miles.

    Another correction for Cromford Wharf parking. Cheapest parking for 4 hours is £2.40. This is the car park opposite church and sign posted to a rugby club. If you buy your ticket at 10.55 this should be enough time to complete walk.
