Eleven walkers and a dog assembled in Hathersage in the sunshine. A rather warm ascent took us up to Hathersage Moor and Carl Wark via Mitchell Field Farm. Here we enjoyed a coffee break and panoramic views before continuing to Higger Tor, Upper Burbage bridge and Stanage Edge where a lunch stop was in order. The walk then took us down from Stanage across the moor, returning via Moorseats wood.
At Vanda’s suggestion we detoured past the two lovely well dressings , and several animal ‘scarecrows’ before refreshments at Crossland Rd. Many thanks to Pete for bringing the club teapot – very useful. (The teapot is still with us so please let us know on 07415 709241 if you need it next) Kathy
