What luck! The fine May weather brought out a good crowd all raring to tackle Win Hill in the sunshine. We gathered early and were ready to go at 11 o’clock sharp. This proved a bit too early for Ali and Andrew, who made amends by doing a steeper, quicker route to the top. The main party took the long way up to Hope Brink where we enjoyed a break for coffee allowing us time to appreciate the fine views of Edale, Lose Hill, Mam Tor and beyond. Suitably refreshed we made good time to the summit where Ali and Andrew were waiting. The slight breeze caused some confusion about the best seat for lunch, but everyone soon settled down to enjoy refreshments and the excellent views in all directions. A leisurely descent to the lanes of Aston was followed by a stroll across the fields back to Hope. A fine springtime walk, lovely weather and the company as entertaining as ever.
