12 people and a dog set out from Linden Avenue on a pleasant day. We walked through a park and some fields (not as muddy as last time) to meet the 3 friends doing the shorter walk only to find 5 people arriving a little late having fallen foul of a road closure. 17 continued on to walk through the woods around Linacre reservoir. Unfortunately the sun went in as we got truly into the trees robbing us of the full effect of the autumn colours. However an enjoyable walk was had by all.
The after walk party was also enjoyable, especially once we got to Rosy’s marvellous ginger cake, decorated to celebrate the 5th birthday of Thursday walks. Commiserations to those who were unable to attend and thanks to those who did, Dick and I have now regained the weight lost through the 50th anniversary challenge thanks to the generous quantities of ‘nibbles’ you brought.
I have also gained a Royal Doulton ‘Calico Red’ plate. If the owner would like to get in touch I will arrange it’s return.
