Meet at the Norfolk Arms, Ringinglow 291836, for 11am start.
We will follow the Hounkirk Road to its high point and then descend to Houndkirk Hill. A pleasant descent through Blacka Plantation follows before we re-ascend to the Hathersage Road which is crossed beforevwe pick up the Houndkirk Road again and return to our starting point. A smidgeon over 8 miles, but well worth it.
Your question for the day – Where is the stone that marks the site of a Toll Bar, closed in 1884? Answers on a post card please.
See you there.
