Take the Strines Road off the A57 & turn right by Point 349 and meet at the parking area on the right opposite the utility sub station & start of Moscar Cross Road.G.R.225883.
An approach past Moscar Cross Farm & Ughill Moors leads down to Dale Dike Reservoir which is circumnavigated making use of the courtesy path on the north side.There is then a steady climb to the Boot Tower,but with an interesting diversion completely avoiding the seriously muddy section of the main path.The Rhododendron tunnel then leads around Sugworth Hall and the road is followed back to the cars.
Distance 8 miles.
