The forecast frontal system arrived a bit early which meant 8 of us set off in pouring rain. This continued as we ascended to the plateau via The Nab. by coffee break time the rain had turned to sleet as we reached the rim of the plateau and became snow within a short time.
Brisk progress eastwards was assisted by a strong wind behind us and we actually had some views, Snow settled on the heather but not yet on the paths. Descent from the plateau to Crookstone Out Moor brought respite from from the weather and lunch was taken on Crookstone hill basking in warm sunshine (honest).
The return to Edale via the youth hostel and Ollerbrook brought a return to rain for a now wet and cheerful group.Thanks everyone who turned out and for being so cheerful and positive in such gnarly weather
