Thursday walkers do it in stile!

Sixteen club members (and Poppy) set of from Sheldon on a day that got better and better weather wise. After the first couple of fields and stiles a buzzard perched on a nearby wall watched the party head off over the next stile and the stile after that as they wound their way to Monyash (on a route where the penultimate stile before the village was repaired by Ali and Martin) and lunch was taken on the green. Following lunch more stiles were ascended and descended as the party made their way to Magpie Mine had a sit down and set off again crossing four more stiles before arriving back in Sheldon. The views on the 6.4 miles of the walk were consistently good and the walk with its 37 stiles gave a great chance to perfect stile crossing techniques (note: not all the stiles had to be crossed, except by purists, as nearby gates were used on some occasions).

    Thanks to all who came.
    Andrew
