Sorry for the late posting, just reccied it this afternoon, and you are in for a treat. Its a route , about 8 hilly miles, of 2 halves, big open views and lovely woods and streams. Park outside Hope primary school ( if coming from Sheffield , turn right just after the church in Hope down the Edale valley road, and there is free parking on that road and just on the left side road in front of the school. gr 172837.
At 11am, we will head up to Lose Hill and along the ridge and down from Back Tor into the Edale valley . Autumn colours are just coming into their own. We will go across to the other side, pass the youth hostel, and on to Jaggers Clough. You will follow the leader’s derriere through the delightful Backside Woods, and work our way down stream and back to Hope. A delightful loop. Win Hill can be done afterwards, adding a very hilly 4 miles onto it. Clocks havent changed yet…. cheers, Linda.
