Having left Sheffield in sunshine, Burbage bridge was shrouded in low cloud and 13 of us set off in a disappointing drizzle and wading through wet bracken. The low cloud/drizzle was short-lived and the views soon returned. The bracken also reappeared as a major ‘higher than head’ feature on an ‘alternative’ finish to the walk causing some unexpected acrobatics. A tad over 5miles for most whilst 3 of the party extended the walk over various parts of Stanage. Apparently Sheffield was sunny all day. Thanks to all who were able to join in.
