Another dry Sunday wedged between wetter days saw 10 of us climbing a wide range of routes along the full length of this sheltered crag. Apparently, it was so windy at Burbage that you could hardly stand but here conditions were close to perfect, vindicating the meet co-ordinator’s choice of location.
What a shame that this was the last Sunday climbing meet of the year – last year we had a great time at Agden Rocher on the last climbing meet. Lets hope that the weather is as good in the Yorkshire Dales next weekend.
It was good to see some faces who have not been on many meets this year such as Rosa and John (Rev. John).
Everyone was keen to do as many routes as possible, even if it meant climbing through the odd bit of vegetation. Actually, the climbs in general were very clean indicating the popularity of the crag.
A highlight of the day was Martin and Pat putting up two new routes – well the lines are not recorded in the definitive guide. They were both worthwhile, something I can confirm having done the second ascent of both with Linda. Tenatively they are named ‘Castle Arete’ and ‘Crevase.’
