Six members gathered at the start near Thornhill, although one left after the first 500m for a planned walk home. The rest crossed the bridge at Bamford Mill, followed footpaths through the village and continued uphill past Gatehouse and Upper Hurst Farm. The ancient forces drew us towards the stone circle on the south east of Bamford Moor where we stopped for lunch before heading to the nowadays much frequented and photographed Bamford Edge itself with usual stunning views. An unintended alternate route through the holm oaks took us down to the the Ladybower dam wall and then the old railway trail back to the start which we just reached before needing waterproofs. The consensus on distance was a tad under 7miles.
Thanks to all who could join in.
