Although starting cool and blustery the weather got warmer and sunny as promised by forecast. 14 of us set off to walk from Burbage Bridge carpark along Stanage to the Plantation where we touched rock on some boulder problems (only one member actually leaving the ground). Down and down to our lunch spot in the sun just short of Hathersage. Up and up back to the summit of Higgar Tor via some surprisingly dry boggy bits. We saw almost the last of the heather flowering and enjoyed clear air and stunning views reminding us why we live here! 10.2km and a lot of up and down
