The pre-11am downpour didn’t seem to deter members from turning up for this walk. So fully waterproofed we left Dennis Knoll and almost immediately the rain abated. Following paths though the lower fields we reached the plantation path up to Stanage, pausing for a break in the shelter of the trees, before heading for Stanage Pole which some had not admired since it was renewed. From Redmires reservoir and now in sunshine, a path, whose initial part at least was new to most, was taken over the moors to High Neb, where we could take in the views and delightful autumnal colours before descending back to our starting point. Thanks to all 19 for your company on this fine, if cool, day.
