Ever been lost in the hills? Even if you haven’t, here is a chance to practice your navigation skills.
Meet 7pm outside Fox House pub by the bus shelter. Roadside parking available. Session should last about 2hrs.
Bring Dark Peak map 1:25,000 and a compass if you have them – I have spare map and compass.
If there are particular aspects of navigation you’d like to practice then let me know. Otherwise we can look at tips on avoiding getting lost, getting more information from your map, interpreting contours, judging distance covered (pacing, timing) and more…
It would be helpful if you let me know if you can come.
