I have arranged a WI talk on “Moors for the Future” on Wednesday 10th April 2019. As this subject is of general interest the meeting will be an open meeting. Any Castle Club members interested in hearing the talk are welcome. It will take place in Bradwell Methodist Hall at 7.30pm. The hall is opposite the White Hart pub. The post code is S33 9JX. Cost is £3.00 which also includes tea and biscuits.
Moors for the Future is a partnership between the Peak District National Park, the Environment Agency, National Trust, RSPB, Natural England, Severn Trent Water and representatives of the moorland owner and farming community. Their aim is to restore and conserve our moorlands so that they are beneficial for people, better for wildlife and more resilient.
The talk is being given by Jody Vallance. It will include work being done on the moorlands including Kinder and Bleaklow.
