Meet at the Rising Sun car park 6.30p.m.( The early start is to ensure we finish in daylight).
A route for mountain bikes..Mostly on straightforward tracks ( with some connecting road sections),but with one section over rough & rocky ground below Blackamoor followed by a ford (but with stepping stones ) and including the new Lady Canning Plantation bike ride.
Leaving the Rising Sun the route takes us past Whirlow Farm to the Ringinglow road and so up to the Ringinglow Hotel where the newly created bridleway leads to the start of the bike trail in Lady Canning Plantation.A blue ride descending from the top of the woods to the bottom (1.5 kms) twisting & turning with Berms and Rollers from top to bottom.The route is suitable for beginners & intermediates-but fun whatever your level.
We then continue over Houndkirk and circle below Blackamoor to return through Dore & Ecclesall Woods.
About 2 to 2.5 hours with an approximate distance of 14-15 miles.
