Castle Club members are invited to the Eagle Ski Club’s lecture on a ski-mountaineering trip last February to the Atlas mountains of Morocco. There was some great skiing and a few peaks climbed (including M’Goun, the second highest mountain in the country), but Philippa Cockman will also talk about the importance of communications, wildlife encounters and the cultural highlights of visiting somewhere a little unusual for a ski tour. There will also be a short film about skiing in Norway in the 1990s.
The lecture will be at the Plough Inn, Leadmill Bridge, Hathersage, Derbyshire S32 1BA (on the B6001 between Hathersage and Grindleford) this Thursday 10 Jan. 6.30pm meet in bar, 7.0pm film and lecture. 8.0pm Pie, chips and peas supper.
