    Castle Naze

This Sunday (27th) it’s my meet at Castle Naze, this is a small grit outcrop on the western side of the Peak District and one of my favourites on a sunny day……fingers crossed! The guide book says ‘Most of the routes follow crack-lines and are well-protected. The crag is fairly short in a glorious position on the edge of the moors.’

    Directions: OS 119 GR SK 052 784
1.5 miles SSW of Chapel-en-le-Frith. Take the A6 west for about a mile, then turn left towards Combs. Turn left at the village and go up the hill for about half a mile and you will see the crag up on the right.
Alternatively from Doveholes on the A6 follow signs to the railway station. 200m past railway bridge head left (Cowlow Lane) for 1 mile to small layby. There is a map on UK Climb.
There is very limited parking so car sharing if possible would be a good idea.
I’ll be at the layby at 10:30, here’s hoping for another sunny weekend.
    Helen
