The advertised walk was vague, a good job really! I had checked out the walk beforehand, but it might have been at least a year or 3 ago!!! 12 of us enjoyed a spontaneous and multileadership approach. The bracken was high going down to the first reservoir, but all 12 survived, although we nearly left 3 behind early on.
Martin’s inner stomach clock chimed at 1pm, but as we had done far less than half we pressed on. Somehow, we found a new footpath, not on the map, but with brand new stiles and Sheffield City Council waymarkers, so I was very flexible and we all tried it out. A scenic lunch spot was found, before I had a mutiny on my hands. Over lunch, a new finish to the route was planned, to ensure miles and time fitted original vague route description.
Then down to Dale Dyke, round left end and back. Thanks to all for our mini adventure on new paths. Linda
