24 people and 2 dogs set out from Hathersage. It was a fairly brutal uphill flog to the top of Stanage with a coffee and rest stop in The Plantation. We were rewarded with weak sunshine, no wind and decent views. A further bonus at the lunch stop below the trig point were some interesting cloud formations over Brown Knoll. On the downhill section 3 members opted to take a short cut below Scraperlow back to Hathersage. The rest of the group managed to struggle back to Hathersage where most of us took up Cathy and Johns offer of tea at their house. Overall a good day out – thanks everyone for your company.
