Eleven victims met at the inaptly named Surprise View car park( unsurprisingly not much of a view) and quickly donned extra layers for what is now the expected Thursday walk weather. The route took us over the top of Millstone Quarry to Higgar Tor where we admired the tenacity of some school parties braving the elements. We continued to Burbage North and took a late coffee and early lunch break under the rocks in a relatively sheltered spot. Suitably refuelled we continued down the valley in some sleet to Padley Gorge and onto Bole Hill. We returned to the car park via the pleasant track through Lawrencefield Quarry. The walk was just under 7 miles but felt enough for the weather conditions, but still provided a good day out. Thanks to all that attended.
