    Walk Report
6 of us st off from our house, firstly down
through Upper & Lower Speighthill Woods
before a brief climb up to woods bordering
    Chesterfield Golf Course.
Coffee taken at a convenient bench overlooking
the course next to a strange structure which
turned out to be a ball washing machine! See pic.
After passing the Golf House we descended into
Walton Woods basically taking a path on the edge
of the woods right through to Chartwell Park where
again we had seating for our lunch stop. See pic again.
It was then on through the electric fence enclosed
paths to Swathwick Stables, up to Harper Hill then
down through pleasant woods to Stubbing Pond.
From here it was back over fields to the old ‘sheep
wash’ in Hill Houses Lane then up to the Barley Mow
pub and back to the house by road.
Geoff, Pat & Martin then joined us for afternoon tea in the sunshine.
In total we walked just over 7 miles &
    gained 640ft. of ascent.
Thanks to all for joining me on the walk.
    Pete.
