6 brave / foolhardy souls met in the rain in Youlgreave. I proposed shortening the route to a bit over 5 miles in view of the incessant rain, but this was increased by agreement when the rain seemed to ease off once at the river in Bradford Dale. Of course it was only due to the shelter of the dale so once we climbed up into the open, we were able to enjoy the wind and rain to its full extent. Numerous stiles of different designs, decrepitude and difficulty added to the fun. Lunch was taken standing in a barn before turning round at the old Elton village water supply troughs. On return to Youlgreave we were all treated to drinks and cakes by Pete in the village shop – well worth ra repeat visit. Thanks Peter. Happy birthday next week. And thanks to everyone for coming along and finding out how good the waterproofs were. Final thanks to Bron for managing to get a couple of photos without an underwater camera.
