Although a fair way to travel this event this event promises a unique day. My friend and colleague Stephen Jones will be leading the walk. He holds ML qualification and has his own insurance as well as also being part of another BMC club. Stephen has done extensive research into the Kinder trespass and provides a very informative and interesting day
We ve all heard of this pivotal event, in 1932, in our struggle to be allowed to walk through wild country.
With the aid of story and photographs, we will walk the exact route of the trespass, so far as it can be reconstructed. We will share the anxieties and passions of that distant time, living under the shadow of the Depression, ill at ease as Communism and Fascism threatened the old order, and deeply conservative landowners tried to close down working-class access to their lands.
And as we think with concern about later developments which are again threatening the Right to Roam, we will feel the ghostly presence of those heroic lads and lasses of long ago, silently watching us to see how well we are defending their legacy ninety years on.
    Kit
We will be going up onto the moor, so bring suitable kit for a full early spring day on the hill.
    Venue
Sett Valley Trail Car Park, Hayfield Postcode SK22 2ES
Starting at 09:30 and aiming to be back by 17:30.
It looks as though we may have to pay to park so suggest car sharing. There may be free options which are being explored and I will post later if this works for us
The possibility of eating in Hayfield afterwards is an option if we want

9 Club members made the journey over to Hayfield along with 1 visitor who led the session. A very informative and interesting session followed based around the mass trespass and the political context in which it took place.
Weather forecast wasn’t promising but largely accurate. WE did have some bits of rain but also extensive periods of sunshine. The most significant weather feature was the very strong winds but nothing we couldn’t handle.
Discussion continued in the pub in Hayfield where hot and cold drinks rounded off the day very well.
Thanks to everyone who came and made the day so positive
