During the walk one of the party declared it to be ‘ …the muddiest walk in living memory!’ but despite this the good news for the eleven walkers and three dogs was that there were good points (if you ignored the underfoot conditions).
Driving over to the start of the walk it was raining but on arrival in Warslow at the start of the walk it stopped and remained dry for the rest of the day. Slip sliding through a wood followed by a steep climb up the slopes of Hill House took the party to a grassy shelf and a break for elevenses. The views over Ecton Hill and beyond were superb. On to the summit and the first trig point of the day which Ali semi mantle-shelved. Paced picked up on the back road option then left over the moor to the second trig point of Blake Mere which gave more great views over towards Jodrell Bank radio telescope and the Welsh borders. Lunch was taken on a grassy bank with views over towards the eastern edges before the party pressed on to the summit of Revidge and the third and last trig point of the day.
A good day for collecting trigs and to enjoy an area the club don’t walk in very often. Thanks to all who came and hope cleaning your boots wasn’t too onerous.
    Andrew
