As they say north of the border, it was a ‘dreich’ day. Undaunted, a party of nine left the mist at Curbar Gap and wandered down through leafy woodland to Froggatt Bridge. We joined the Derwent Heritage Way for a pleasant riverside walk to Calver Mill and then Baslow. After a climb out of the village lunch was taken with views overlooking the valley, but these were soon obscured as the rain moved in. An easy path under Baslow Edge returned us to our starting point.
