Eleven folk turned out ready to walk after an infusion of several coffees at the Goose Green cafe in Baslow. We crossed the Chatsworth Park and ascended the steps i ndelightful shade to the hunting tower for a quick refreshment stop. A further coffe stop at the start of Dobb Edge allowed us to admire the views across the valley. The route then followed Birchen Edge to the Nelson Monument for lunch where scrambling up the three large boulders proved too difficult. Then onwards in sweltering heat to Wellington Monument before the descent down the track to Baslow. Seven miles total. thanks for the good company.
