17 of us met at the car park in Eyam and set off with an initial stiff climb past the YHA hostel to Highcliffe.
Following the track past Lady Wash mine we were soon over the Sir William Hill “Road”with the long descent to Stoke Ford.
The usual tea brake was taken sheltered by the wall at the bottom of Gotheridge Plantation before the final descent to the Ford.
At this point 3 members peeled off to return to Eyam without the loop to Abney and Cockney Farm.
The remaining 14 continued as planned ,stopping for lunch in sunshine on an elevated grassy slope and wall for shelter just before Cockey Farm.
A slightly muddy descent then led into Bretton Clough with a dog leg path leading to the track over Bretton Moor.
The leader having decided to modify the route by omitting the descent to Black Hole mine, the group followed the short section of road to Highcliffe where the path on the west of Jumble Brook led pleasantly downhill to Eyam.
An enjoyable round in rather better weather than the predicted fog!
    Thanks to all who attended.
    Mike D
