    Totley, Blacka Moor and beyond

Meet by the information board in front of the half-timbered building (former pub) on Totley Hall Lane (GR307797). Roadside parking is available on Totley Hall Lane or by turning right off it onto Stock Green Drive.

The walk is approximately 6.9 miles long and has the advantage of getting the majority of ascent completed in the first 1.5 miles. Following the ascent you are rewarded with exceptional views all around. The going underfoot is good to firm on the entire walk. All in all it’s not to be missed!

    Hope you can make it.

    Meet report (slightly late!)

Fifteen of us set off from Totley at a good pace arriving at the first planned stop earlier than planned. Nobody objected to sitting down having a brew and admiring Sheffield from high on Blacka Moor. Views were good as we headed across the moor in the direction of Fox House. Lunch was taken in Longshaw. The walk then took us to White Edge Moor before heading east to the trig point at the summit of Flask Edge. We then descended back towards Totley in afternoon sun. Everybody seemed to enjoy the round but the meet leader had to apologise as the walk was slightly longer than advertised (will plan more carefully next time!)
    Cheers
    Andrew
