Thursday walk 23rd May

Meet by the church and school in Litton (G.R. 164751) for a 6 mile (approx) walk exploring Cressbrook,Water-cum-Jolley and Cressbrook Dale.
The route crosses the fields & woods to Cressbrook followed by a descent to Litton Mill.Because of problems leaving the high level traverse, we will follow the trail through Water-cum Jolley below Cramside Wood before taking the interesting alternative path above the Dale (an escape when the main path is flooded ) which skirts around Cressbrook Hall to finish at the old mill.
The walk then continues via Cressbrook Dale and Tansley Dale to finish back in Litton for a tea at the Post Office or a pint at the pub.

My original notice gave the date of this walk as 23rd April when it should have been 23rd May.
The original message on the message board has now been corrected to 23rd May-hope this didn’t cause any confusion.
