Eight walkers (and initially a cyclist) were blessed with a beautiful spring day and within minutes of starting out we enjoyed a 360 degree panorama from William Hill trig. An easy descent with glorious views brought us to Stoke Ford and a coffee break. After following the path downstream we crossed over the footbridge and so up to Highlow Hall. We took the lane round to Callow Farm and descended through Callow wood where the bluebells were still providing a good display. A rickety stile gave access to a short ascent through more bluebells and some rather fine orchids.By now it was getting quite warm and a welcome lunch break was taken in a pleasantly situated field just above Broadhay Farm. The route continued via Hoghall with mild grumbling about the gradient from some quarters and eventually led past Leam and across Eyam Moor to the parking spot.
An enjoyable little circuit of fractionally over 6 miles.
Thanks to all for your company,
Frank
