Meet at Curbar Gap [GR 263747] either parking in the car-park, which is free for National Trust members, or on the road below. This 7 mile walk will go through the woods below Curbar Edge, drop down to Froggatt bridge and then along the Derwent Valley Heritage Way via Spooner Lane to Grindleford, before climbing up through Hay Wood to the Grouse Inn. Here we will stop for a drink to toast Pete Hammond, who will be celebrating his 70th birthday. Then a short climb up to White Edge for the return leg back to Curbar Gap. Look forward to seeing you all there.
