Seven cheerful walkers set off into the Autumn sunshine…the sky was so blue we could’ve been in Greece.
Fabulous views from Calver Peak and from coffee stop, looking south towards Rolland and Hassop park. Lots of photo opportunities as we ambled past some very docile Highland cattle and after navigating a couple of freshly ploughed fields skirting Rowland, we arrived at The Parthenon for our picnic lunch (oh, it was very confusing, it turned out to be the Church of All Saints in Hassop).
After stocking up with help-yourself Bramleys and Cox’s Orange Pippins, we sauntered along the Bank Wood and Bramley Wood ridge, enjoying clear views across to Chatsworth and the fountain.
The merry band was easily persuaded to delay going home, relaxing over pots of tea, sitting on the patio, outside the Derwent Arms, Calver.
10.4km. Lots of fun. Thanks for great company.
