It was a raw morning as 11 of us met at Shillito Woods free car park.
We managed to find several Bronze age stone circles and cairns in the Bar Brook basin as well as the more scattered remains of Swine Sty. More modern boundary stones and way markers also dot the landscape – one Sheffield marked stone dated 1770. A bit of pathless wandering in snow flurries added a bit of excitement to the historical landscape.
5.5miles and as no real shelter en route we were glad to get back to warmth at our cars. Chris.
