Fifteen souls were keen to grab the one day of decent weather this week, and we set off from Ringinglow down the Limb Valley path, bearing right at the stone bridge to take us down past Whirlowbrook Hall to the road, returning back on the east of the pond to take a coffee stop by the bridge, The meet leader’s ginger cake seemed to give everyone enough energy to climb out of the valley to the Birkdale playing fields and then down into the Porter valley. Finding four vacant benches by Forge Dam we opted for a lunch stop there before heading on up beside the Porter to Fulwood Lane, where 2 departed to walk back home to Bents Green. The remaining 13 continued across the Lane up to the moors then along the top of Lady Cannings Plantation to the main track back through to the start point. Almost 8 miles and not a drop of rain!
Thanks everyone for coming out and helping the leader kick off his 71st spin around the sun.
