If you are at a loose end on Saturday April 18th at 7.30pm, why not make your way to Hathersage Memorial Hall for an illustrated lecture on Ernest Shakleton’s expedition to cross Antartica via the South Pole, just 100 years ago.
I quote from the publicity –

” Geoff Selley is the current custodian of a talk which has been handed down in direct succession from Dr Hussey, one of the original expedition members. He will be giving a presentation, which includes images reproduced from the original lantern slides taken by Frank Hurley, the expedition photographer. With the eerie glow of the magic lantern slide show, you will be transported back to that heroic age of Antarctic Exploration.”

Tickets cost £5 and iclude light refreshment. Contact Heather Rogers 01433 650884
It should be a good evening.
    Sean.
