Meet in the centre of Litton by the school (opposite the Post Office) G.R.165752. at 10.am.
The route crosses fields and continues to Cressbrook village before descending to Litton Mill.Above this we take the High Level path above Miller’s Dale and then continue on the Monsal Trail, over the viaduct and through the tunnel.
Leaving the trail we then pass through Little Longstone and over Longstone Moor to Wardlow.from here we take the path down into the top section of Cressbrook Dale.
There is then an option to take a short finish by taking the path through Tansley Dale and back to Litton.
If time permits, those wanting a longer finish can extend the walk by continuing through Cressbrook past St.Peter’s Stone, from where the north side of the Dale is climbed to pick up the path to Mires Lane.A path through access land then leads dramatically to the top of Tansley Dale and the return to Litton.
Distance-10 miles with the shorter finish,11.5 miles with the longer.
Look forward to seeing you there.
