I will be leading what is a fantastic ride of 38miles and 1650feet of accent. Its 2/3 off road so suited to trail or mountain bike. Road bikes would also be ok.
Meet at the free car park at the side of Penistone Paramount Cinema,23 Shrewsbury Road S36 6DY, for 10.30 kick off.
The route takes the TPT to Millhouse Green, then the hill climb up Royd moor on road. We then head for Lower Denby and on to Bretton park passing the sculpture park. Giving New Millerdam a wide berth we arrive at the chapel on the bridge (poor copy of the one in Rotherham) and the Hepworth Gallery Wakefield.
Lunch can taken here or we could find a café.
The return journey follows the River Calder out of Wakefield and eventually we follow the disused Barnsley Canal.
We pass through Darton and Cawthorne to return to Penistone.
I will be taking sandwiches.
