Hello All
Following the last walkers’ meeting I am trialling an idea of some easy Saturday walks this month and next month. The idea behind them is to visit easy walking venues, with places of interest and/or beautiful scenery.
On the meets list, the first one billed is Wentworth Castle. However, after a stroll out today, many of the permissive paths are closed by the National Trust at present. I’ve decided to move this walk to later in year, when the gardens are blooming1So, the first of the easy Saturday walks will be Cannon Hall Park. It is starting at the historical village of Cawthorne at the edge of the estate. The terrain is leisurely parkland and attractive woodland. No major ascents. There is an option to go to a cafe and look around the gardens at Cannon Hall also.

Meet 10.30am and park on the edge of the village green at Cawthorne GR 284080 or S75 4HL
Bring light lunch. Distance around 6 miles. Please message me if you are coming so I don’t turn up “Billy No Mates”. Hope to see you there.
